We went to river country in our van. The American River in the Sierras. To visit old friends. Strange reunions under difficult circumstances. We were going to head to Joshua Tree for a funeral. But it seemed like a bad idea, so we stayed in the mountains for a few days and returned home to the secret garden. For what, we don’t know.
